Cherrybook summary of the video
This interview with co-founder Matt Chitharanjan details the origin of Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters in 2012. It covers their growth from a home-based operation to a major Indian coffee brand, their focus on sourcing high-quality specialty coffee, and their business strategy regarding cafe expansion and e-commerce.
From NDTV Profit:
“Blue Tokai was started in 2012 by my wife and I. We were both at points in our careers where we were looking to do something on our own and we were really struggling to find a good cup of coffee.”
“We're happy that there's more coffee shops opening because all of these different brands have different styles of communicating with customers, different USPs. Ultimately, that's helping to grow the overall market for us.”
