About Equator Coffees

Community reputation · Reddit

Well-regarded· sentiment 80/100

Three Reddit posters describe Equator coffees ranging from excellent to technique-sensitive. One says Ethiopia Suke Quto produced possibly the best cup they had ever made with a 4:6 Chemex method. Another uses Equator's Ethiopia Sidama Ardi as a positive benchmark. A third initially struggled with Thailand Doi Pangkhon but brewed a good cup after grinding an hour ahead and letting the grounds rest.

I can get a serviceable cup out of it with my V60 but it hasn’t been as good as some of the Ethiopians I’ve recently purchased from Black & White or Equator Coffees’ Ethiopia Sidama Ardi. The first cup I made using the Orea provided pulse pour recipe was extremely underwhelming. The co

I have been brewing coffee in a V60 for a while now (getting coffee from a Trade subscription) and I recently got a bag of Thailand Doi Pangkhon from Equator Coffees. I brewed with my preferred 4:6 method and also a method I got from Baratza. With both methods, in the bloom, this coffee swells up like crazy. Both cups.
