Colombia El Samán — Filter
Carbonic Maceration lot with Grape, Raspberry, and Rose in the cup.
Huila, CO · Carbonic Maceration
Roaster · Calgary, AB
46 lots in stock, mostly Colombia, Bolivia and Panama.
Coverage is below 50%. Available roaster-level evidence comes from Reddit and YouTube. Per-lot evidence from SCA grades, Coffee Review entries, and public on-shop product ratings is limited across the catalog. With limited signal, scores are also pulled toward a neutral 50 baseline by the Cherrybook Index methodology, so lots can read flatter than the actual cup quality differences between them. The average Cherrybook Index therefore leans more heavily on roaster-level reputation than per-lot quality.

Per-lot signals (averaged)
Vary across lots; averaged over 46 in-stock lots.
Bonuses earned (per lot)
Base components are renormalized over whatever signals are available for each lot. SCA + Coffee Review are capped at 40% combined to keep the cupping story from dominating. Bonuses (accolades, awards, editorial coverage) and freshness decay are applied on top.

Six Reddit threads are mostly favorable toward Monogram Coffee, with one contributor also reporting uneven results. One subscriber said switching from Kicking Horse to Monogram made a noticeable difference; another commenter said they could not recommend Monogram enough and expected its long-standing roasting team to produce more refined, consistent roasts. A repeat drinker said they had bought only Monogram for more than five months and loved its coffee, though one coffee was not their favorite; a Calgary commenter likewise described some coffees as incredible and some as duds, while calling the higher-end offerings a good choice. Other contributors said they were impressed and wanted to try more, or listed Monogram among their favorite roasters.
Yes sir! I'm all the way down in North Carolina, but a buddy in Canada sent me a bag. I gotta say, I'm really impressed with Monogram. I'm a hardcore Counter Culture fan and Monogram has a similar vibe to their roasting, or at least this one does. I really want to try more from them. Phil and Sebastian is definitely on
Was buying Kicking Horse for $10/lb for a long while. Tried a Monogram subscription due to a Black Friday sale a few years back. Price was about $16 for 350 grams. Didn’t think it would have that big of an effect but I was wrong. I know this a highly subjective question but for each of you, where did you find was the p
I can't recommend Monogram enough. Not only are they led by some of the top coffee professionals in Canada (and in the world, actually) they also have an incredible team that has been with them for a while. Meaning that the roasts will be more refined and consistent since the roasters have had the chance to REALLY get.
...one who lives in Calgary, I may be biased in my answer, but here it is. P&S are great, source fantastic green and roast quite well, but the wonkery comment is correct. Monogram have some absolutely incredible coffee, but also have some duds. Their higher end stuff is always a good choice. I would advocate trying out
I just finished the Aricha filter roast, mixed usage between V60 & americanos. Monogram is the only roaster I've been drinking for the last 5 months +, and I love their coffee. Usually have an Ethiopian and Central/South American on the go in this house. I don't have a great palate, but the Aricha wasn't my favourite..
...od mocha (is that sacrilegious to say on here?). Located in BC, Canada we try and get our beans from as many local roasters as possible, some favourites include Modus, Monogram, Phil & Sebastian and JJBean. I actually bought a giant thing of mocha sauce from JJBean, which has sadly come to its end. I need to repleni
