At 340 g, this bag runs about 2% less per ounce than a typical 287 g bag; that is pack size, not the coffee.

How this estimate works

A statistical model, refit weekly across the in-stock catalog, estimates what a coffee with these listed attributes typically sells for per ounce. Each multiplier compares one trait against the average lot in this market; the roaster line covers brand and sourcing together, which this model cannot separate. Bag size is shown separately, priced at the rate observed across sizes of the same coffee, because it says nothing about the coffee itself. The distribution counts every in-stock listing in the comparison group, with at least 15 listings from three roasters and no roaster supplying more than 60% of it. Decaf, blends, variety segments, processing families and bag formats stay separate. Origin, roast and selling currency can broaden as the group label indicates. Prices are converted to USD per ounce; shipping and differences in tax treatment are not adjusted. The model reads listed attributes only: the quality of the specific lot in the bag is not observable, so a price above the typical band is not evidence of overpricing.

Some listing details are missing or have limited model coverage, so the typical band shown is wider than usual.

Preliminary

Confidence3 of 7 signals on file

Score is partially shrunk toward a neutral 50; read directionally until more source families land.

How confidence affects the score

Coverage measures signal availability, not cup quality. This coffee has 38% of the signal universe on file. Missing sources are dropped, remaining weights are renormalized, and the result is shrunk toward a neutral 50 baseline by 5% so one thin signal cannot carry the score on its own.

The math on file: renormalized base 83.9 shrunk to 82.2 + bonuses = 85.

“The beans appear good quality but roasted too dark to let the fruit flavors shine. Such a shame.”

Big flavor
“A strong flavor blast on the first sip. The flavor shifts quickly from fruity to floral. Nice fragrance also. I use HarioV60 and am partial to light roasts. This is only my fourth Yirgacheffe, and Worka is becoming my favorite. Recommend!”

How ratings count toward the Index

To count toward Cherrybook Index, an aggregate must come from a supported source, match this product, include at least 5 ratings, and have been refreshed within 90 days. Its weight is 12% for 5–24 ratings, 15% for 25–99, or 18% for 100 or more. Higher tiers require another base signal; a ratings-only lot stays at 12%.

They're Honduras Nueva Esperanza from Sightglass roasters, which are fantastic roasters with great customer service, cant recommend them enough. They were roasted december 30, 2019, and

  • r/Coffee · 8↑ · V60: do certain beans respond poorly to Hoffman method?

I've used it to great success before, but I was surprised at how poorly my coffee tasted when using it for my new beans. I have a bag of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from Sightglass, and I attempted to dial in using Hoffman's V60 method and adjusting grind size. My coffee was bitter and harsh on first sips no matter what grin

This video covers Sightglass Coffee; it is general roaster coverage.

Cherrybook summary of the video

Fellow chats with Brian from Sightglass Coffee about their flagship SOMA location in San Francisco, their sourcing roots in Honduras with producers like Giovanni Baide and David Muñoz, and how their coffees are roasted and brewed.

From Fellow:

“Sightglass we were born here in SOMA on 7th and Folsom. ... back in 2009 is when we first opened up our doors.”
“the idea behind that space was to kind of create a Willy Wonka factory so that folks could come in and they could see everything, every part of the process.”
