METAD operates across several prominent coffee-growing regions in Ethiopia, including Gedeb, Gedeo, Guji, and Yirgacheffe. Their coffee production takes place at high elevations, specifically within an altitude band ranging from 1900 to 2250 meters above sea level.

The varietal landscape for METAD is characterized by the cultivation of heirloom varieties. These traditional Ethiopian cultivars are the primary focus across their production lots.

The producer maintains a clear focus on the washed process, which accounts for the majority of their catalog presence. While their portfolio is heavily weighted toward washed coffees, they have also produced natural-processed lots.

METAD is represented in the current index by 11 distinct lots, with two roasters currently carrying their coffee. Recent catalog examples include the Ethiopia Washed Buku, Ethiopia Metad Beriti Washed, and Ethiopia Metad Benti Nenqa Washed, all processed as washed coffees.
