Kibingo washing station

Kibingo Washing Station is located in the Kayanza region of Burundi. The station processes coffee grown at altitudes ranging from 1650 to 1900 meters above sea level.

The varietal landscape at Kibingo is dominated by Red Bourbon, which accounts for the majority of the lots in the index. Other varieties represented in the catalog include Mibirizi and SL34.

The station maintains a diverse process portfolio. While washed processing is the most common method, the station also produces natural, honey, and experimental lots, including an anaerobic natural process.

Kibingo is represented by 12 total coffees in the index, currently supported by eight different roasters. Recent catalog examples include the Lilac Dream lot from Phil & Sebastian Coffee Roasters, which is a washed Red Bourbon; the Burundi Kibingo Natural from Anodyne Coffee, also a Red Bourbon; and the Burundi Kibingo Special Process from Intelligentsia Coffee, which utilizes an experimental method.

The work at Kibingo is characterized by a broad range of processing techniques applied primarily to the Red Bourbon variety.
